PAG-IBIG ID
A card used by Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) members (Filipino worker, whether employed or self-employed) to prove their identity in order to have short-term loans and to have access to housing programs.
HDMF is popularly known as PAG-IBIG
In a facebook status posted by Pag-IBIG Fund (HDMF) , they declared that they will no longer be issuing ID cards, instead they will issue a card called Transaction Card. TC will not be considered as a valid ID and said that the card contains MID number and security code of the members.
In order to get a Transaction Card from PAG-IBIG, you must be a member of PAG-IBIG. If you are still not a member, you can simply go to the given website below to register.

UMID ID
Unified Multi-purpose ID is the single ID card for all SSS, GSIS, Pagibig and Philhealth members so it is important to have one.
To apply for a UMID you must present any of these primary valid ID needed:
- Passport
- Driver’s License
- Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) card
- Seafarer’s Identification and Record Book, or Seaman’s book

Company ID
On the other hand this identification card is used by the workers or employees inside a company. Like the school ID, the process and requirements also depends on the company and is used for identification, security and access control purposes also.
It is not just Filipino workers who must produce valid ID cards like those stated above but also the overseas Filipino workers. They must have those kinds of ID but there are other ID cards that they must also have and those are the following:
OFW ID
Global Identification System would serve as the primary ID card for all documented Filipino workers abroad to protect them from exploitation in the workplace.
The OFW Electron Card serves as proof that cardholder is a legitimate Overseas Filipino Worker and an OWWA member.
* It gives a permanent ID card number that will link OFW’s information necessary in dealing with various government and private agencies.
* It also facilitates availment of OWWA benefits and services.
* And can be used as a remittance card and ATM or a debit card at the option of the OFW.
*This ID card will bear information such as the worker’s name, date of birth, latest photo, card number, validity dates, passport number and expiration date, type of work visa, country of employment and employer’s name and will also include their Social Security Number, Pag-Ibig member number and PhilHealth membership number.

This kind of Identification card is very important to the citizens of the country because it has variety of usage like for example, it is used as an evidence of your residency and it is presented when you’re travelling local or international.
Requirements:
- Personal appearance
- Confirmed appointment
- Accomplished application form
- Birth certificate
- Valid IDs
- Prepare all the documents needed for passport application.
- Make an online appointment with DFA.
- Proceed to DFA office on your appointed time and date.
- Present your application form to the Appointment Counter.
- Get your queue number and sit down on the waiting area. Once your number is called or displayed in the monitor, proceed to the designated window of the Processing Area.
- Pay the applicable processing fees at the Passport Enrollment.
- Proceed to the encoding section for image and data capturing.
- Pay the required fee on the Delivery Counter. This is done so you can deliver the passport to your home during the release date without the need to return to the DFA office.
POEA ID
ID issued to people who already has a POEA license legally issued by the government and is exclusively being given to OFW.

Also known as CID are used by some governments to identify their citizens who reside abroad. But this does not legally certifies the residency of the citizens that means CID card holders could be illegal or aliens.
To obtain Consular ID, you can refer to these general requirements*
- Passport [present and original]
- 2 copies of birth certificate
- Photo ID
*the following requirements are general requirements only and may still vary within the country’s policies and requirements in getting CID and may be subject to processing fees depending the country.
Also there are IDs that are being used to prove our identity and our citizenship like the voter’s ID, postal ID and Student ID [or school ID] as well Driver’s License while there are IDs that are being used in order for us to be given some special benefits and privileges like Senior Citizens ID, DSWD ID.
Here enlisted all the ID card stated above, their types, purposes and how to get them:
A valid ID that is being honored by any government offices and banks for identification purposes and is given to a registered voter pursuant to Section 25 of Resolution No. 8189 – It shall serve as a document for his identification. Primarily being used in order to receive a ballot for an election.
To register, a person must possess all of the following requirements
- A Filipino citizen, (at least 18 years of age) who is not yet a registered voter and is residing in the Philippines for at least 1 year
- A resident in the place wherein he (or she) proposes to vote for at least 6 months immediately preceding the May 9, 2016 Synchronized National, Local and ARMM Regional Elections; and
- Not otherwise disqualified by law.

According to COMELEC.GOV.PH a person has to establish his/her identity when he (or she) personally appears to file his/her application for registration before the Office of the Election Officer (OEO).
The following identification documents are the valid IDs accepted:
- Employee’s identification card (ID), with the signature of the employer or authorized representative;
- Postal ID ;
- PWD Discount ID;
- Student’s ID or library card, signed by the school authority;
- Senior Citizen’s ID;
- Driver’s license;
- NBI clearance;
- Passport;
- SSS/GSIS ID;
- Integrated Bar of the Philippine (IBP) ID;
- License issued by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC);
- Certificate of Confirmation issued by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) in case of members of ICCs or IPs; and
- Any other valid ID.
- In the absence of any of the above-mentioned identification documents, the applicant may be identified under oath by any registered voter of the precinct where he (or she) intends to be registered, or by any of his/her relatives within the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity.
- No registered voter or relative shall be allowed to identify more than three (3) applicants.
- Community Tax Certificates (cedula) and PNP clearance shall not be honored as valid identification documents for purposes of registration.
- If the applicant fails to establish his/her identity by any of the aforementioned methods/documents, he/she shall not be issued an application form, nor shall his/her pre-accomplished application form be accepted, (Commission on Elections, 2015)
